NSW: Train timetable to arrive early: report

SYDNEY, Aug 10 AAP - A revamped CityRail timetable could reportedly be introduced five
months early to ease growing commuter frustration.

The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper reports a consultancy firm hired to work on the
new timetable has told transport groups it will be ready in April.

The revamped timetable had been expected to be ready in September next year.

Details of the new timetable have not been released and CityRail refused to commit
to weekend services being reinstated, the report said.

A CityRail spokeswoman said the timetable would include longer running times which
were needed to improve reliability, the report said.
