FED: ACCC moves on College of Surgeons
The competition watchdog has moved to break the stranglehold of the Royal AustralasianCollege of Surgeons on who gets to practice surgery in Australia.
Proposed reforms by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission say the governmentshould play a greater role in determining how surgeons are trained, who becomes a surgeon,and which overseas surgeons are able to work in Australia.
