Colts upset Chiefs again

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Pulling off upset victories on wintry days inKansas City is getting to be a habitColts 24 Chiefs 19 for the Indianapolis Colts.

A year ago, the wild-card Colts scored a stunning playoff upsetover Kansas City, ruining the Chiefs' Super Bowl dreams and fillingthem with a thirst for revenge.

On Sunday, underdogs once again, the Colts took advantage ofKansas City's injury-riddled defense to capture a 24-19 victory thatleft both teams hanging on the playoff cliff."Whew, I've got to get my heart quieted down a little,"Indianapolis coach Lindy Infante said after Dedric Mathis batted awaySteve Bono's pass in the end zone with nine seconds left."The heart just drops out of your body."Rookie Marvin Harrison tied a team record by catching threetouchdown passes from Jim Harbaugh as both teams went home with 9-6records."Everybody knows (the Colts) stabbed us in the heart last year,"Chiefs receiver Tamarick Vanover said. "We really wanted to get somerevenge. We had the opportunity, but we just didn't get it done."The Colts had to hold their breath after Harrison's thirdtouchdown made it 24-13 with 3:48 left.Bono, who came in for an injured Rich Gannon in the secondquarter, hit Kimble Anders with a five-yard scoring pass with 1:17 toplay to make it 24-19. Then the Chiefs' Anthony Davis recovered anonside kick, and Bono passed the Chiefs to the 11 with 18 secondsleft. But on fourth down, Mathis broke up Bono's pass to DananHughes.Gannon, 1-1 as a starter, pulled a hamstring after scramblingfor five yards in the second quarter, and Bono came onto the field toa mix of cheers and boos.NOTABLE: Key Chiefs players who missed the game because of injurywere defensive lineman Dan Saleaumua, defensive back Dale Carter anddefensive end Vaughn Booker.QUOTABLE: Colts DB Dedrick Mathis: "I needed to come up with a bigplay (at the end of the game) and I did."
