The 116th Kentucky Derby two weeks from tomorrow may not havethe best field ever, but it will feature starters who combined havewon at least 60 races in less than one year, which is better than forany other Derby.

Tomorrow's $500,000 Wood Memorial at Aqueduct in New York andthe $500,000-added Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs willhave much to do about deciding the Kentucky Derby field, which mayreach the limit of 20.

The mile-and-an-eighth Wood attracted 10 entrants. The ArkansasDerby, at the same distance, will have 14.
