BOC to Build Carbon Dioxide Plant in New York State.

BOC says it plans to build a 600-m.t./day carbon dioxide (CO2) plant at Volney, NY, to be operational in December 2007. The plant, which will be built in a former brewery next to the ethanol plant owned by Permolex International (Alberta, Canada) and Northeast Biofuels (NEB; Fulton, NY) ethanol plant, will be the only CO2 facility in the Northeast U.S., BOC says. The northeast region of the U.S. has not had local CO2 production since 2005 when a Massachusetts CO2 producer shut down.
