MAN CLEARED IN CONFRONTATION.(CAPITAL REGION)

Glenville A business owner who felt a town policeman was harassing his customers was cleared of charges lodged against him by the officer after a confrontation two years ago in a Route 50 parking lot.

Ralph Spillinger, owner of the Bayou Cafe, was arrested in the parking lot of his bar-restaurant on April 14, 1997, by Officer William Gallop.

According to police records, Gallop was checking out people sitting in cars outside the restaurant at 9 p.m. on the suspicion they might have been doing drugs and was in the process of arresting a man found in possession of marijuana when confronted by Spillinger.
